We partner with Thai and international law enforcement to convict offenders and properly care for survivors. HUG’s child protection work falls under three areas: investigative support, victim advocacy, and law enforcement capacity-building.

Investigative support

Open-source fact-finding, surveillance of suspected activity, confirming suspect location, victim identification, child forensic interviews, case consultations, and content removal requests.

Walking families through a process built for adults.

Victim advocacy begins as soon as a child victim is identified and continues until they no longer require assistance. Support looks different for every client, and can include walking victims and their families through the justice process so they know what to expect and are prepared for court.

We connect families with legal assistance to press charges, file appeals, or apply for financial compensation from the offender, and provide support on issues such as citizenship, custody, and repatriation. HUG also advocates at national and international policy level for legislation that improves protections for children.

Teaching victim dynamics, not only the law.

Capacity-building covers the technology, tools, and training designed to maximise the effectiveness of investigations, lead to admissible evidence in court, minimise re-traumatisation throughout the justice process, expand child victim-centric practice, and protect the privacy and dignity of victims and their families.

A task force that works as one team.

The Thai government created the Thailand Internet Crimes Against Children task force in 2016, and HUG has partnered with TICAC from the beginning. Founder Boom Mosby continues to serve as an Official Advisor to the group.

This specially trained collective of Royal Thai Police, international law enforcement, government agencies, and NGOs works cases involving child sexual abuse and exploitation, child sexual abuse material, and child sex trafficking. The team has conducted well over 200 cases, and increases the number of offenders arrested and children rescued each year.
